Air quality – environmental sensors within the tunnel monitor Nitrogen Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide and Compressed Natural Gas levels. Air visibility, direction and speed are also monitored.
Power supply – mains power is monitored by a Crompton Integra 2000 power meter. The PLC communicates with the power meter using Modbus RTU and provides information regarding the systems incoming power supply.
An Allen-Bradley PanelView 600 Colour Touch Panel is mounted on the PLC switchboard. This provides an operator interface to the PLC system and is connected via DeviceNet. All instruments monitored by the PLC are displayed on the Touch Panel, and in the case of air quality and power supply these are displayed as instantaneous values.
Linked to the Busway Operations Centre at Woolloongabba via an Ethernet connection, the system is designed to run automatically, however it may be controlled manually when required.
